cozy vibes in a quiet spot
From the moment we arrived, the warm atmosphere captivated us. The communal kitchen felt like home, serving up delicious pastries and freshly brewed coffee each morning. Our room was stunning, combining modern design with traditional Japanese elements, making it a pleasure to come back to after a day of exploring. The location is peaceful yet just a short walk from bustling shopping streets.
While the overall experience was excellent, the initial welcome at check-in left something to be desired. The staff member seemed a bit disinterested, which contrasted sharply with the kindness displayed by the rest of the team throughout our stay. Also, nightly sounds from neighboring rooms sometimes disrupted our sleep, but nothing that earplugs couldn’t alleviate.

We loved our stay, especially how spacious our room was for our family of four. The free ice cream in the lobby was a hit with the kids! We enjoyed relaxing in the cozy lounge area and appreciated having a game room available. The only minor downside was some early morning noise from deliveries nearby, but earplugs did the trick. 😊

The Design Hotel Kyoto Fuyacho has an amazing ambiance and decor that really stands out. The contemporary modern furniture in the reception area is eye-catching, making a great first impression. I had a Superior Studio that was spacious and perfect for our stay. Free ice creams in the fridge were a delightful touch that my 15-month-old daughter absolutely loved after our daily outings. The location is fantastic, with quick access to the metro, shops, and restaurants. A Nespresso machine in the common area was a nice perk, and having a washing machine in our room was so convenient after a long trip. However, the bedding left something to be desired. The duvets were overly thick for the hot August weather, and the mattress felt lackluster compared to other places we've stayed. Additionally, noise from other guests was noticeable at night, which disrupted our sleep on occasion. Still, the staff was generally helpful and the overall experience enjoyable.

communal kitchen, spacious bathroom, quiet street
A whole-body mirror would be a nice addition!!! Also, getting just six bottles of water for two people over eight nights is a bit stingy. Finally, a cleaning service would boost comfort during longer stays!!!

discover amazing parks and temples within walking distance
during my stay, I found it super easy to explore the nearby nijo castle, just about 2 km away, and take peaceful strolls at heian shrine, which was approximately 2 km from the hotel, making my urban walks so enjoyable and memorable.

Good location. Free wi-fi and a shared kitchen were great. Noisy neighbors disturbed our sleep.
